Community Outreach Awareness Campaigns

This initiative empowers women of reproductive age especially pregnant or high-risk ones with vital knowledge about pre-eclampsia. It shares clear info on key warning signs (severe headaches, swelling, vision changes, high blood pressure) via community workshops, #ElewaKifafaChaMimba social media, simple infographics/videos, antenatal clinic partnerships, and local-language radio/TV spots. The project promotes early symptom recognition and quick healthcare-seeking to reach over 50,000 women yearly, improving outcomes for mothers and babies. Success is tracked through pre/post knowledge surveys and rises in timely antenatal visits.

Advocacy Program

This advocacy-driven programme aims to improve availability and affordability of essential medications and quality medical services for pre-eclampsia management. Key activities include, evidence-based policy briefs and petitions to reduce stock-outs, training healthcare providers on updated protocols, etc,. Collaboration with policymakers and health facilities aims to secure commitments for better supply chains and emergency protocols.

Psychosocial and Bereavement Support Network Program

This compassionate support program establishes peer-led and professional psychosocial services for women experiencing pre-eclampsia, survivors, and those grieving pregnancy/infant loss. Components include virtual and in-person support groups, trained bereavement counselors offering one-on-one sessions, resource hotlines, memorial events, and integration of trauma-informed care training for healthcare workers. Partnerships with mental health organizations and hospitals ensure referral pathways. The focus is on reducing isolation, providing coping tools, and advocating for routine psychosocial screening in maternity services.
